JAKARTA - The defending women doubles champion Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang advanced to finals of the Indonesia Open super series after trashing their seeded compatriots Ma Jin/ Tang Jinhua in semifinal match ended 21-18, 21-16 here on Saturday.
The no. 1 Wang Xiaoli/ Yu Yang will take on their compatriot Bao Yixin/Shu Cheng, seeded no. 8, in final match scheduled on Sunday after the latter pairing defeated no. 5 players Tian Qing/ Zhao Yunlei in the other women double quarter final match.
"We had never met them in previous international tournament. But we did exercises together several times. We had prepared strategies to defeat them. One thing for sure, we would play the best we can in the final match tomorrow," Bao Yixin told reporters after the match.
Another semis berth was secured by the no. 1 women single player Li Xuerui, finalist of the tournament last year. She will vie against Hong Kong contender Yip Pui Yin in a semifinal match scheduled later in the day.
