Travel agencies to get tourist incentive

Travel agencies will be given 10 yuan ($1.61) a day for each foreign tourist staying overnight in the Guangdong provincial capital. The incentive, double the 5 yuan introduced in 2010, starts from Tuesday Guangzhou-based New Express Daily reported.
All travel agencies, including those registered outside the city, are eligible if they have organized foreign tourists to check into hotels in the city for at least one night.
Previously, only travel agencies registered in Guangzhou were considered.
Travel agencies will also receive at least 10,000 yuan if they organize a chartered plane, or an ocean liner, to Guangzhou from foreign countries and regions.
