The China National Tourism Administration recently launched a public WeChat account to promote travel news.
The administration has recently been using new media to disseminate tourism information and news online and encourage public interaction.
The new account will improve the administration's work efficiency and upgrade its role in news publicity, says Zhang Jilin, news spokesman of the administration.
The official account will announce major government policy changes, travel news and consumer alerts on a daily basis, especially during major holidays.
