The exhibit Material → Object showcases a "reconceptualization" of works by six contemporary Chinese artists at New York's Eli Klein Gallery through July 19. The six are Gao Rong, Li Hongbo, Li Hongjun, Wang Liwei, Wang Lei and Ye Sen, whose materials include cloth, paper, wood and leather. Gallery owner Klein (left) explains the show to two visitors in front of Gao's Station from 2011, an embroidered bus stop placard made of cloth, sponge and iron. [Cong Yan / China Daily] |
