High school student shot on campus in US

WASHINGTON -- A high school student was shot on campus on Monday morning in the US state of Maryland, local police said, adding that the victim has been hospitalized.
The shooting took place on the first day of school at Perry Hall High School in Baltimore. Baltimore County police said that they are investigating the case and holding a suspect in custody.
Students have been evacuated and escorted to Perry Hall Shopping Center, where they can reunite with their parents, US media reported.
