NEW YORK - US authorities isolated and searched two planes at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Monday after receiving hijack threats, but found no explosives, local media reported.

The threats regarding American Airlines Flight 24 from San Francisco and Finn Air Flight 5 from Helsinki were phoned in in the mid-afternoon, said the reports, noting that both were a short distance away from New York when the calls were made.

Authorities searched the two aircraft immediately after they landed without incident.

"The flights were searched, and there was a determination made that there was no threat to the planes or their passengers," said a spokesman of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The Port Authority said there was no major impact on other flights at the airport.
