WASHINGTON - Two people died in a bus accident at US Miami International Airport on Saturday morning, an airport official said.
A bus carrying 32 people struck an overpass at the airport, killing two people and injuring others on board with three in critical condition, said airport spokesman Marc Henderson.
The bus was too high to pass the overpass heading into the arrivals section, which had a clearance of eight feet and six inches (about 2.62 meters), said the spokesman. Buses are supposed to go through the departures area, which has a higher ceiling, he said.
The bus was privately owned and typically used for tours with the passengers seated at a higher level than the driver, said the local police.
