French FM confirms military operation in Mali

PARIS - French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said Friday that France has sent troops to help Mali stop advance of Islamist rebels.
"We need to stop the advance of terrorists, otherwise Mali will fall in their hands," Fabius told journalists at a press conference following President Francois Hollande's announcement of France's engagement in military mission in Mali to fight against the Islamist rebels.
