MUNICH - The 49th Munich Security Conference (MSC), to be held in the German city on February 1-3, would discuss such global hotspots issues as the situation in Mali, the Syria unrest and the eurozone crisis, MSC president Wolfgang Ischinger said Thursday.

This year's event is expecting more important delegates from different countries and areas than ever, including high ranking officials from China, Russia, the United States and Germany, Ischinger told reporters, adding that "the upcoming conference will be extremely exciting."

China is playing a more and more important role on the stage of world politics, he said.

Among the more than 400 attendees would be high-ranking officials, representatives of international organizations, security issue experts and economic celebrities from more than 90 countries and regions worldwide.
