SEOUL - Samsung Electronics, the world's largest maker of memory chips, mobile phones and display panels, unveiled on Friday its new flagship smartphone Galaxy S4.
Galaxy S4 featured a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080. It had a pixel density of 441 pixel per inch (ppi).
It came with a "dual camera" function that allows simultaneous use of both front and rear cameras. Users can select eight different ways to combine the two photos taken by both cameras.
The newest model of Galaxy S series supported 3G network as well as the 4G LTE, which allows it to function in most LTE coverage areas and enable global LTE roaming.
The model came with 1.9 GHz quad-core processor and 1.6 GHz Octa-core processor, running on 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android operating system (OS).
"Following the successful Galaxy S series, this phone is yet another great proof point of people-inspired innovation," said Shin Jong-kyun, president and head of Samsung's mobile business. "At Samsung we'll never stop pursuing innovation conceived by people, so we can inspire them in return."
