TEHRAN - The Islamic republic will host a meeting on the Syrian crisis on May 29, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman announced on Tuesday.
Abbas Araqchi said "from the very beginning, we believe that there is no military solution to the Syrian crisis and that a national dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition will lead to a rational solution" to the crisis.
The slogan of the upcoming meeting in Iran's capital of Tehran is "Political Solution-Reginal Stability", he added.
The Iranian official emphasized that political solution to the crisis in the Arab state will result in regional security, warning that otherwise, no stability would be expected for the region.
The previous meeting on Syria concluded in the Iranian capital of Tehran last November with the participants calling for a ceasefire and an end to the armed conflicts in the crisis-ridden country.
Iran has been the main regional ally of the Syrian government as its officials have repeatedly stressed Iran's support to a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
