PLA aerobatics team to attend Russian air show

BEIJING - The August 1st Aerobatics Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force will kick off its first foreign trip next month, a Defense Ministry spokesman announced Thursday.
The team will take part in the "Marx-2013" International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Moscow, which is scheduled to be held from Aug 27 to Sept 1, according to Geng Yansheng.
The event is part of the annual military exchange program between China and Russia, Geng said at a regular press conference.
Established in 1962, August 1st is the most prestigious aerobatics team in China. The team now is equipped with J-10 fighters designed and manufactured by Chinese indigenous technologies.
