KABUL - Afghanistan's Interior Ministry on Sunday strongly condemned an attack on Chinese nationals and expressed sympathy with the victims' families.
"No doubt it is sad news for us. We condemn the gruesome incident in its strongest term," Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi told Xinhua on Sunday.
He added that the police have initiated investigation into the case and will spare no efforts in bringing to justice those behind the heinous crime.
"Providing security to foreigners particularly to the Chinese people is very important for us and our police will spare no efforts in this regard," Sediqi stressed.
Unidentified armed men sneaked into an apartment of Chinese nationals in Qalai Fatullah area of the 4th precinct on Thursday afternoon, killing four people including one Chinese man, two Chinese women and their Afghan guard.
The attackers also took away two other Chinese men, but one of them managed to escape.
It remains unclear that if the attack was purposefully targeting on Chinese nationals in Kabul as the investigation is still on-going.
Taliban outfit has yet to make any comment over its possible involvement in the offensive.
