Saipan and Chengdu explore economic and tourism cooperation
Then the group went to the Chengdu Panda Base.
It was the first time that Aldan-Pierce and Concepcion have seen pandas in real life.
"If only I could bring just one panda home! The whole American and the whole Japanese tourist population would go crazy to come to Saipan to see the panda," Aldan-Pierce said.
"The revenue for Saipan tourism would quadruple!" Concepcion said.
In the Panda Incubation House, on a giant screen was looped footage of a newly born baby panda that was merely the size of a hand.
Aldan-Pierce was so impressed by the sight and was in awe that a palm-sized cub could grow to become a stately giant panda.
After the panda incubator, the group went to Swan Lake inside the park. In the manmade lake there are lots of fish and swans living among the reeds. "This is a sustainable development of an ecosystem on a small scale," remarked Aldan-Pierce.
