The Eiffel Tower was evacuated on Sunday afternoon after a threatening phone call was received, media reports said.

The 324-metre-high monument was evacuated around 3 p.m. (1300 GMT) and no further details were given by police, according to media reports.

The iconic tower was closed to the public for two hours on Aug 9 for a false bomb alert. Another such incident this year took place on March 30.
