Rock Heroes concert
If there was only one rock gig listed in the top 10, it would surely be Rock Heroes, which brought to the stage the genre's biggest names - Cui Jian (pictured), Zheng Jun, Zhang Chu, He Yong, Dou Wei, Xu Wei and Tang Dynasty. More than 50,000 fans gathered at Beijing's Workers' Stadium on Aug 27 and near 80,000 crowded into Shanghai Stadium on Nov 13 to shout, wave and sing with these rock icons from the last 20 years. The reunion of He Yong, Dou Wei and Zhang Chu, who were called "Moyan San Jie", or the "Three Prominent Ones of Moyan Records", was an emotional highlight. Their 1994 Chinese Rock Power concert at Hong Kong Arena stunned the Hong Kong audience and created momentum for the wave of rock that washed over the country.
