Chinese classic sung in Korean

A Dream of Red Mansions is the magnum opus of China's literary pantheon and has been adapted into numerous operatic forms, many classics in themselves. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) produced a Korean version 50 years ago, based on a well-known Chinese opera. In 2010 they took the Korean staging to China and it was met with unexpected approbation and turned into a prolonged tour across China.

On the heels of such success, the same troupe is now working on The Butterfly Lovers, another Chinese classic.
