Teacher gets into Harvard while helping students apply
A 28-year-old English teacher in Chongqing has been admitted to Harvard University while helping her students apply to American universities, Chongqing Morning Post reported on Monday.
Yang Sihan said she learned some application procedures when she was planning to study abroad before. She scored 1,490 out of 1,600 on her GREs in 2012.
"I wanted to give my students more insightful and helpful advice, so I decided to apply myself to get a real experience this time," Yang said.
To her surprise, Yang received an offer in March, and Harvard will grant her a $46,500 scholarship a year.
In addition to Harvard, Yang also received scholarship offers from The University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University.
Yang will be flying to the USA in August to study at Harvard with the good wishes of her students and their school.
