7,000 scenic spots launch discount tickets during National Day

For the upcoming National Day holiday, more than 7,000 scenic spots in China have launched discount E-tickets, including more than 400 scenic spots in Beijing.

On the website of Ctrip, a Shanghai-based travel agency that runs the eponymous travel website, most of the scenic spots cut prices. The E-ticket price of the Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall dropped from 45 yuan ($7) to 37 yuan ($5.80), while the price of admission to the Tanzhe Temple was reduced to 45 yuan from 55 yuan ($8.60).

Some scenic spots launched a one yuan ($0.16) ticket for limited sale on the Ctrip website, including Xiannvshan National Forest Park in Chongqing and the Areca Valley Li and Miao Cultural Heritage Park in Hainan province.

Many scenic spots also provide rapid admission service. Tourists with E-tickets simply enter the scenic area from a special entrance by scanning the two-dimensional code.

In addition, with sponsorship by the China Tourist Attractions Association (CTAA), 2,050 5A-level and 4A-level scenic spots signed a commitment to not raise prices during the National Day holiday. Almost 80 percent of the 5A-level and 4A-level scenic spots are included.

According to local media, tourism attractions that proposed price adjustment plans in August, such as Shanghai Wild Animal Park and the Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower, promised to retain the current price during the vacation.
