During the first half of last year, carmaker BYD posted explosive growth, selling vehicles powered by new forms of energy, principally electric cars. That division saw revenue surge more than 10-fold to 2.7 billion yuan. The automaker currently has around a 37 percent share of China's new energy vehicle market.
