HARBIN - Police in northeast China's Heilongjiang province have arrested 251 people after they were found to have been involved in drug trafficking, local police authorities said on Saturday.
Some 16.5 kg of methamphetamine and more than 5,500 methamphetamine tablets were seized by police during the two-year long campaign, said Sun Yanguo, head of the anti-drug team of the provincial public security bureau.
Police found the suspects used multiple channels to traffic drugs from the provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guangdong to Heilongjiang Province starting in January 2011.
Three guns, a large number of knives and tools they used to produce drugs were also confiscated by police, Sun added.
