A bride filed for divorce in a Beijing court after the bridegroom mistakenly said the name of his first love during their wedding ceremony, the People's Daily Online reported on Friday.
The bridegroom, surnamed Zhao, called out his first love's name when he asked the bride if she would marry him at the ceremony.
The bride, surnamed Zhou, in a rage, took off her wedding ring, rushed to the court and filed for divorce, the report said.
Zhao chased up his bride and kept on apologizing, explaining that he was too nervous at the ceremony and that he did not say the name on purpose, the report said.
The bride finally dropped the case after mediation by a judge, the report added.
