GUANGZHOU - Five people were killed, including a two-year-old, in a house fire in South China's Guangdong province Friday morning, local authorities said.
The fire engulfed a three-storey residential house at about 12:55 am, burning 62 square meters of the residence in the downtown Guancheng district of Dongguan city, the municipal fire department said in a statement.
Four people trapped inside the house were killed, and a two-year-old child rescued from the house later died following treatment, the department said.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
