An escaped convict, who became a successful businessman while on the run for 14 years, was returned to prison recently, Modern Express reported on Wednesday.
Wang Chao (not his real name), 40, a resident of Neijiang, Sichuan province, was sentenced to six years in prison for theft and robbery in 1997 and escaped in April 1999. He forged an identity card with the information of his younger brother, as they looked very similar.
While at large, Wang worked hard and established a company in 2009 in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province.
Recently Nanjing police found Wang's identity card was suspect and further investigation showed he was the Sichuan prison escapee.
On Oct 28, Wang was caught by police and sent back to jail.
