A construction management official whose office was responsible for a building involved in a fatal collapse earlier this month committed suicide on Wednesday, police sources said.
The man, named He Gaobo, was the deputy director of the construction management office in Jinping neighborhood, in Fenghua city, East China's Zhejiang province, the city's police department said on its official Weibo.
The office oversaw the residential building which collapsed on April 4, killing one person and injuring six others.
The cause of his death is still under investigation. It's not confirmed whether his death is related to the fallen building. Two people directly responsible for the construction of the building have been detained.
