Chinese director Ning Hao's road comedy Breakup Buddies topped the list of the higest selling Chinese films in 2014, according to ent.qq.com.

Net ticket sales in 2014 totaled $1.05 billion.

This was a year for newcomer directors, as six of them contributed $54.2 million, more than half of total sales.
