Man rents residential compound for four alpacas
A man purchased four alpacas after a trip because he found them lovely and cute and a good investment, and keeps them in a specially rented compound in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, reported gmw.cn on Wednesday.
The rented compound has a garden for them to play in. He bought carrots and cabbages for the alpacas as the grass he ordered online hasn't been delivered yet.
At night, alpacas are led to their bedrooms where cat litter carpets the ground and the air conditioner is set to 16 degrees since they are not comfortable in the heat.
It takes four or five hours to bathe the alpacas, which costs 150 yuan each and 800 yuan more if they are also groomed and beautified.
According to the alpacas' owner, it costs 3,000 yuan ($500) a day to rent an alpaca for commercial promotions and their wool is worth over a 1,000 yuan per 500 grams.
