Tie Ning, re-elected the chair of the 5,000-strong Chinese Writers' Association last November, is the author of more than 50 publications. She has written convincingly on the theme of female sexuality, as they appear in materialistic cosmopolitan set-ups as well as remote and rural, almost pre-lapsarian, China, as in Pregnant Woman with Cow.
