Beijing recently hosted the Micro Film Grand Gala to boost the development of the micro film industry.

Micro films are short shows made to be played on new media, such as video websites and mobile phones.

The event was jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Ministry of Commerce and the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.

Organizers are also calling for micro film makers to submit their works. The submission deadline is Aug 28 and results will be announced at an award ceremony on Sept 28.
