Christina Aguilera is "happy" in her own skin.
The singer and mentor on US TV show 'The Voice' has come under fire for her fuller figure, but doesn't care what people say because both she and her boyfriend, Matt Rutler, are happy with her look.
Speaking at a press conference promoting 'The Voice' in California yesterday (07.01.12) she said: "I have a boyfriend that loves my body. I love my body, my son is healthy and happy and that is all that matters.
"Women, we are definitely under a microscope and under massive scrutiny. As long as I am happy in my own skin, that is all that is all the confirmation I need."
Christina – who has son Max Liron, three next week, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman – added being confident in herself has been key to her success, and she hopes to be a strong figure for the girls she mentors on the talent show, where judges have to pick contestants without seeing them.
She added: "You have got to be a strong, powerful, very confident woman. Being in a position to coach these young women, I am happy to be able to share that with them and share my highs and lows. Being on the show, it's a very good outlet."
Christina has faced criticism from reality TV star Kelly Osbourne in the past who called her "fat" after she first started to put on weight.
Kelly - who herself has herself struggled with yo-yoing weight in the past – said last August: "Maybe she's just becoming the fat bitch she was always born to be. I don't know."
