Jessica Simpson's fiance is planning to give her jewellery worth $30,000 as a present when she gives birth.
Eric Johnson has been "pretending" he isn't going to get the 31-year-old star a gift for producing a child - which is known as a push present - while the former NFL player has secretly bought the blonde beauty luxury items from her favourite jeweller on the Italian island of Capri.
A source said: "He made a big deal about how ridiculous he thought the idea of push presents was, so she has no idea that she's getting anything at all.
"He loves to surprise her, which is why he's pretending he hasn't got anything, but he's actually planning to totally spoil her. He didn't just get her one thing - he really went crazy!"
Eric is said to have purchased Jessica a ring, which will be engraved with their baby's birth date, as well as platinum bracelets and a matching necklace with a huge amethyst.
A source added to America's OK magazine: "He got in touch with the store in Capri because he knew that would be really meaningful to Jess. They shopped there on her 30th birthday, which is when they first talked about spending the rest of their lives together."
Jessica and Eric are due to welcome their first child in the coming weeks.
