Jennifer Lawrence angered her parents by snubbing a Disney job.
The 21-year-old 'Hunger Games' actress had the chance to follow in the footsteps of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and land a TV role with the company, but turned it down because it wasn't the direction she wanted to go in.
She told Stella magazine:"(In one audition I was) asked if I could sing, and I was like, 'No. To be honest I don't think I'm a Disney kind of kid'.
"When my parents picked me up they yelled at me so badly. They were spending a lot of money giving me the chance to do this - and I had the potential to be on a television show that would obviously pay for everything and I was like, 'Nah'."
Cast in the lead role of Katniss Everdeen in the forthcoming movie based on 'The Hunger Games' trilogy of young adult books, Jennifer says she admires her "badass" character who volunteers to replace her little sister as a contestant in the potentially fatal games.
Talking to the excited crowds during a tour stop in Los Angeles, she said: "She is somebody that I admire. She's a futuristic Joan of Arc. She's a warrior for the people. There's not really anything that I don't like about this character."
