LOS ANGELES - Oprah Winfrey has done the seemingly impossible, and silenced Lady Gaga. At least where the media is concerned.

"Poker Face" chanteuse Gaga (born Stefani Germanotta) told Winfrey in her interview for "Oprah's Next Chapter" -- airing Sunday -- that she's taking a vow of silence where interviews are concerned, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

"Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time," the singer said in the interview, to air Sunday. "No press, no television, if my mom calls and says, ‘Did you hear about…' I shut it all off."

The "Alejandro" songbird's apathy toward the media has grown so deep, in fact, that she doesn't even follow news reports about herself.

"I don't read a damn thing," Gaga said.

It's a jarring shift in attitude for the singer, who gained her reputation with such publicity-grabbing stunts as wearing a dress made of meat to the MTV Video Music Awards and letting slip with chestnuts such as, "I can actually mentally give myself an orgasm."

Winfrey and Gaga have been chummy in recent weeks. In late February, the talk-show giant joined the singer at Harvard University to help Gaga launch her Born This Way Foundation, which aims to "explore the best ways to reach youth and create a new culture of kindness, bravery, acceptance and empowerment."
