Cameron Diaz cried when she cut her hair into a short bob style.
The 39-year-old actress revealed on Tuesday's (01.05.12) 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' that she was overcome with emotion when a hairdresser chopped several inches off her signature blonde locks late last year.
She told the host Jay Leno: "There was a little misunderstanding. I said, 'Oh I just want a little bit off' ... and it went from here to here."
Upon seeing her new style, Cameron was so upset that she burst into tears.
She said: "I just burst into tears and started crying, and I felt so vulnerable. For a woman to all of a sudden have no hair, oh my god."
The 'What To Expect When You're Expecting' star revealed that the situation was more awkward because the stylist was a friend.
She admitted: "I felt really bad, she felt really bad, she started crying, I started crying, a couple of other people started crying. I ended up writing her a few emails after, the next couple days, assuring her I wasn't going to kill her."
Cameron confessed that she had been getting DIY treatments on her tresses for many years instead of paying huge amounts at Hollywood salons.
She joked: "I'm in her kitchen often with the cape around my neck, going, 'I hope we're not going to cook after that.'"
