Tom Cruise has paid tribute to 'Top Gun' director Tony Scott.
The movie director jumped to his death from Vincent Thomas Bridge into the Los Angeles Harbor, and Tom is remembering his former colleague fondly.

He said: "Tony was my dear friend and I will really miss him."
The actor - whom Scott, 68, directed in the lead role of 1986's 'Top Gun' and in 1990's 'Days of Thunder' said his mark on the film industry cannot be measured.
He added in a statement website UsMagazine.com: "He was a creative visionary whose mark on film is immeasurable. My deepest sorrow and thoughts are with his family at this time."
The brother of 'Prometheus' director Ridley Scott, 74, Tony is said to have climbed a fence on the bridge and leapt to his death on Sunday (19.08.12) around 12.30 pm.
The Los Angeles Times reports that police found a suicide note in the filmmaker's office but did not disclose its contents.
He had recently finished shooting the drama 'Out of the Furnace', starring Christian Bale.
His previous films include 'Beverly Hills Cop II', starring Eddie Murphy, 'Enemy of the State', starring Will Smith and Gene Hackman, 'Spy Game', starring Brad Pitt and Robert Redford, and the remake of 'The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3', starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta.
He also served as an executive producer on TV's 'Good Wife'.
In addition to his brother, Scott leaves behind his wife, Donna, and two young sons.
