Joe Simpson has been banned from drinking alcohol.
The showbiz patriarch - who is the father-and-manager of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson - has been ordered by a judge to stay away from drink until his next court date after being charged with driving under the influence (DUI) earlier this month.
According to TMZ, Joe was due in court today for his arraignment following his arrest at a DUI checkpoint in Sherman Oaks, California, on August 4th.
But Joe's lawyer Shawn Holley has now got the case continued until September.
Following his arrest earlier this month, the Los Angeles City Attorney filed two misdemeanor counts of DUI against Joe after he blew .12 on a breathalyser test, .04 higher than the legal limit.
If he is convicted of both counts then he could face up to a year in prison, but that is thought to be unlikely as he's a first-time offender, or he could face up to 36 months probation and a $1,000 fine.
Following Joe's arrest he spent the night in a cell before being released at 9:41am the next day.
