Prince Harry made his first public appearance since naked photos of him were published this afternoon (03.09.12).
The young royal was seen in public for the first time since his infamous Las Vegas pool party - where he was pictured naked after a game of strip billiards - at the WellChild Awards, held at the InterContinental Hotel in London.
Royal sources say he was keen not to let his antics two weeks ago overshadow the ceremony, and determined to show his support for the charity, which awards children and young people whom it considers to be the bravest in Britain. He has been a patron of the organisation since 2007.
Harry, 27, appeared at the event in a blue suit and spotted pink tie, and was due to meet with youngsters privately before joining them for tea and handing out the award for Most Inspirational Child Age 3-6. The prince was also due to give a speech at the event.
A source told website MailOnline: "Prince Harry is keen that what has happened does not overshadow what is going on today. He knows and understands there will be a lot of press interest because of recent events but just wants to focus on the children. That's why he is there."
Harry is also expected to make an appearance at the Paralympic games, which are currently being held in London, later this week.
