Cross-Straits comedy has a laugh at love

Taiwan director Hsieh Chun-yi's comedy Unpolitical Romance was recently test-screened at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, which ends on Nov 29.
It tells the story of a Beijing woman, who journeys to Taiwan to find her grandmother's first lover. It delves into the differences in culture, values and love between Taiwan and China's mainland.
"I don't want to be categorized," lead actress Huang Lu says. "A good actor or actress should be like water, which changes to accommodate its container. I want to try more and different roles."
The movie will premier in Taiwan and on the mainland in 2013.
