Libya

2 injured in embassy blast

A car bomb hit the French embassy in Libya on Tuesday, wounding two French guards and causing extensive damage. Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Abdel Aziz branded the act a "terrorist" incident, and French President Francois Hollande said Tripoli must act quickly to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Canada

Hearing set for 2 in terror plot

Two men face a bail hearing on Tuesday after their arrest on charges of plotting a terrorist attack against a Canadian passenger train with support from al-Qaida elements in Iran, authorities said. The case has raised questions about Shiite-led Iran's relationship with the predominantly Sunni Arab terrorist network.

United States

Boston bomb suspect charged

The two brothers suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon appear to have been motivated by a radical brand of Islam but do not seem connected to any Muslim terrorist groups, US officials said after interrogating and charging Dzhokhar Tsarnaev with crimes that could bring the death penalty. Tsarnaev, 19, was charged on Monday in his hospital room, where he was in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the throat and other injuries suffered during his attempted getaway.
