"Over the years, judicial interpretations have played an important role in properly implementing the law. However, with social and economic development and improved legislative work, some interpretations do not agree with the law, or are contradictory."
Xin Chunying, vice-chairwoman of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the top legislature, talking on Tuesday while delivering a report at a bimonthly legislative session. The Legislative Affairs Commission proposes in the report that the formulation of judicial interpretations should be further regulated and regularly improved. It says judicial interpretations should not go against the law and should be within the scope of the law.
