The chairman of the Brit Awards has confirmed that David Bowie's "extraordinary life and work" will be honored at this year's ceremony, which is set for London's O2 Arena on February 24.

Bowie became the oldest recipient of a Brit Award when he picked up the Best British Male honor at the 2014 event.

A memorial concert, which had initially been organized as a tribute show, is also being planned for New York's Carnegie Hall in March.

Now, an exhibition on the star's legacy in music, fashion, and design is underway in the Netherlands' Groningen Museum.

The exhibition traces the singer's career through five decades, and more than 300 items are on display.

The museum had been prepared to host the exhibition over Bowie's 69th birthday and the release of his new album. The celebration turned to mourning as fans learned of his passing on Jan 11.

The David Bowie exhibition was created in 2013 by London's Victoria and Albert Museum and has been traveling the world since then.

Bowie lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, two days after his 69th birthday.
