The 2012 International Junior (U18) Tennis Tournament (Chengdu Stop) will be held at the Sichuan International Tennis Center in Shuangliu, Chengdu from Feb 25 to March 11.
The tournament is the first international sports event in Shuangliu since August of 2011. It is also the first U18 Tier III event ever held in the center. The participants have doubled compared to last year and nearly 200 players from 15 countries and regions in the world will take part in the tournament.
An official from the Shuangliu Sports Bureau said, "The tournament is a good opportunity for Sichuan young tennis players to exchange ideas and share experiences with tennis players at home and abroad. Sichuan will have more players like Zheng Jie and Yan Zi (world renowned Chinese tennis players) through such international tournament practices."
