The China men's handball team will play three friendly matches against German club TBV Lemgo at the KANNE & P+M Cup in Jiangsu province and in Beijing later this month.
The two sides will play games in Danyang and Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province on July 24 and 25, and then meet at Tsinghua University in Beijing on July 28.
According to the organizer, the TBV Lemgo club, 10 players on the German team will represent their county at the London Olympics, and five will be in the starting lineup. The players will fly directly to London from Beijing after the Chinese events.
The cup is the first step in building an international exchange in handball between China and Germany. Future series are expected to be planned between the two countries.
