The British chamber’s annual general meeting and summer garden party will be hosted at the Ambassador's residence on June 17, and a new Chairman and Executive Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in China will be elected at the AGM preceding the garden party.
This year’s Summer Garden Party has been reinvented as a party in the true sense of the word: a summer fête with Pimm’s and summer cocktails, a barbecue, live music and lawn games in the company of members from all walks of the Chamber. Befitting the occasion, the party will be hosted at the Ambassador's residence and attended by Ambassador Woodward.
Nominations of the election of the Executive Committee are now being taken for all positions and all UK-registered members are eligible to stand. The results will be announced at the start of the evening by Ambassador Woodward in front of the most senior members of the chamber and senior company representatives from all walks of industry.
A midsummer's evening with friends and colleagues: a very British occasion in the sophisticated surroundings of the residence's terrace and gardens with over a hundred expected guests, plenty to eat and drink and a good time to be had by all - and Beijing's premier soul band, Tavey Lean and the Solid Gold Dream Machine, will be helpful to dance the evening away.
