The talks in Warsaw between China and the US from 1958 to 1970, when the two countries did not have diplomatic relations, are a great undertaking in the history of world diplomacy, Chinese Ambassador to Poland Sun Yuxi said at a ceremony in the Myslewicki Palace, the venue of the meetings. US Ambassador to Poland Lee Feinstein also attended.
The Women's National Basketball Association players Kiesha Brown and Tamika Raymond traveled to Shenyang, Liaoning province, this summer to coach youngsters in the fine points of playing basketball and to emphasize the importance of keeping fit and eating healthy food.

China's consul general in New York, Sun Guoxiang, opened a photo exhibition at the Asian Art Gallery in New York on July 31 titled Tibet: Sacred Land of Snows.
"The photographs on display today were selected from entries submitted by photographers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, who participated in a project called Capturing Tibet in 24 Hours." Gao said the show is "a wonderful way to showcase today's Tibet, its natural beauty, the life of its people and the changes it is experiencing".
Carina Klein, cultural affairs officer for the US consulate general in Shanghai, led four student panelists in a discussion for 40 students and parents about studying abroad in the US last month during the third and final Shanghai pre-departure orientation.
