DAMASCUS - Syria rejected and condemned all decisions and comments by the Friends of Syria conference on Saturday, according to an official source which termed the meeting "the enemies of Syria."
"The conference came as a result of a failed plot targeting Syria and its people," said the unnamed source, whose remarks were carried by the state-run SANA news agency.
"Syria also totally rejects any calls to arm the oppositions, as we consider it a move of support to terrorists that would hurt the Syrian people and their hope for peace and stability," said the source.
The source also urged all opposition parties, which refused to participate in the gathering in Tunisia, to embark on a national dialogue as soon as possible.
At the conference in Tunis, representatives of some 70 countries and regions agreed not to militarize the Syrian conflict but concurred on an Arab peacekeeping force to ensure stability during Syria's democratic transition.
The meeting also agreed on tougher sanctions against President Bashar al-Assad's government, including severance diplomatic ties.
