BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale jolted the New Ireland region of Papua New Guinea at 04:06 am Sunday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter, with a depth of about 40 km, was at 4.7 degrees south latitude and 153.1 degrees east longitude.
