TOKYO - Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura said on Tuesday that talks between Japan and Democratic People's Republic of Korea will resume in Beijing on August 29.

Fujimura made the remarks at a news conference held in Tokyo, saying the talk will be the first time in four years, mainly in hope of retrieving the remains of Japanese who died in DPRK in the final phase of World War II.

It will be the first government-level talks between the two nations since Democratic Party of Japan came to power in 2009, said Fujimura.

Topics on the agenda include visits by Japanese to their relatives' burial sites in DPRK, according to Japanese media reports.
