Iran ready to expand ties with DPRK

TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said that the Islamic republic is ready to expand bilateral relations with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in all arenas, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Monday.

Salehi made the remarks when meeting with his DPRK counterpart, Pak Ui-chun, here on Sunday.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 16th Non- aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran, Salehi referred to Iran's experience in such fields as economy, industry, commerce and agriculture, and expressed Tehran's readiness for the expansion of bilateral ties with the DPRK in all those sectors.

For his part, Pak underlined NAM's role in resolving some international issues, according to Fars.

The expert-level meeting of the NAM summit which opened here on Sunday continues Monday, and will be followed by the ministerial- level meeting on August 28-29, and the summit on August 30-31.
