SYDNEY - A boat with about 150 asylum-seekers aboard was sinking Wednesday in Indonesia's Sunda Strait, some 220 nautical miles from the Australian territory of Christmas Island, Australian authorities said.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority said the Indonesian search and rescue agency BASARNAS was coordinating the search and rescue response.
Australian authorities had informed vessels in the area to help, but BASARNAS had indicated no further assistance was required.
